Turmeric is a popular cooking spice but has also been traditionally used in a number of health areas for thousands of years, most notably in Ayurveda (Indian health philosophy). Turmeric
Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is a tropical root/herb that is part of the ginger plant family. Turmeric originates from tropical parts of Asia and has been used in Asian cuisine since long ago and also in Indian medicine. In recent years, we in the Western world have also increased our use of turmeric both in food and in the form of supplements thanks to all the studies that are continuously published about turmeric's benefits. Turmeric has been shown to have an anti-inflammatory effect, which has led to many people appreciating turmeric for joint problems, for example. Turmeric also seems to have a positive effect on digestion and liver function. There are several active substances in turmeric but the most studied are curcuminoids.
Curcumin C3 Complex®
As curcuminoids are attributed to most of turmeric's health benefits, we have chosen the highly concentrated, standardized extract C3 Complex®. With C3 Complex®, we can guarantee a content of 95% curcuminoids, which gives 475 mg per tablet! Curcuminoids also give turmeric its beautiful yellow/golden color. Curcumin C3 Complex® is the most clinically studied turmeric extract on the market and is also used as the Gold Standard for turmeric extracts.
Black pepper extract
To further optimize the product, we have added a patented black pepper extract, Bioperine®, with a standardized amount of piperine. Piperine is the most active substance in black pepper and gives black pepper its strong taste. Studies show that piperine increases the absorption of certain nutrients and herbs, including curcumin in turmeric. Bioperine® contains a minimum of 95% piperine and increases the bioavailability of turmeric's curcuminoids for optimal absorption in the body.
