Magnesium Monthly Pack - Information

A mineral for the whole body

Magnesium is needed for the muscles in the body to have the right conditions to function normally and can also reduce symptoms such as fatigue and exhaustion. Both energy metabolism and the nervous system are dependent on the body's magnesium levels, and magnesium also contributes to maintaining normal bone structure and healthy teeth. Magnesium participates in a large number of the body's biochemical reactions and is needed to activate approximately 300 different enzymes! Magnesium is necessary for the body's electrolyte balance (salt balance), for normal cell division processes and for protein synthesis. In addition, this mineral is important for our cognitive functions in the brain. In other words, it is a substance with a very broad effect on many completely different areas of the body.

The diet is not always rich in magnesium

Good sources of magnesium in the diet are nuts, green leafy vegetables, whole grain cereals, almonds, beans, potatoes, fish, meat and dairy products. Keep in mind, however, that chemical fertilizers prevent the plants from absorbing magnesium from the soil, which means that the magnesium content varies greatly depending on the origin of the plants. The absorption of magnesium can also be reduced with the simultaneous intake of foods rich in phytic acid and/or with very low protein intake. As if this were not enough, coffee, tea, soft drinks and other diuretics, for example medication with diuretics, risk stimulating the excretion of magnesium in the urine. Heavy alcohol consumption can also be another factor in magnesium loss, which can cause a lack of the mineral. There are also other factors that can increase our magnesium need such as hard exercise, heavy sweating and stress. In other words, there are a number of factors that can significantly increase the body's need for magnesium.

Recommended intake

Recommended daily intake of magnesium is 280mg for women and 350mg for men. Some believe that these are relatively easy levels to maintain with a good diet, while others believe that we should in fact at least need to increase the amount of magnesium we get on average through our diet. The fact is that the general magnesium intake today has decreased enormously compared to the amount of magnesium you normally got through the diet before.

3 different sources of magnesium

Elixir Magnesium contains magnesium from 3 different sources in the form of oxide, citrate and malate. It is also supplemented with vitamin B6, which interacts with magnesium and is needed for the normal functioning of the nervous system, energy metabolism and the immune system. It also, like magnesium, reduces fatigue and exhaustion and supports the cognitive functions of the brain. The product also contains the black pepper extract Bioperine ® which increases the absorption of magnesium.
